About The Producer
Domaine La Font de Notre Dame, situated in the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail, is a family Estate managed and run by the Roux family. In 2016 Jean-Pierre Roux handed the reins over to his sons, Frédéric and Boris, who continue to impress us with their commitment to bringing us the beauty of their terroirs in a bottle. While the Domaine is based in Gigondas, they also have holdings in Lirac and Rasteau.
Terroir & Vineyard Practices:
The Roux’s have a total of 13 hectares in Lirac on the soil of large galets (large stones) and red clay on a bed of sand. On a sun-soaked hillside with 60-year-old vines.
Tasting Notes
Bright dark purple color. Aromas of raspberry and cherry, a layered flavor profile on the palette of black fruits and licorice. Well-integrated tannins.
Vinification
Hand-harvested, severe sorting at the winery, destemmed and fermented in temperature-controlled tanks for 15 days then vinified in stainless steel.
