About The Producer

Bodega Bravo Escós, founded by Luis Bravo, is located in the heart of the Priorat, near Torroja del Priorat. The estate’s untamed beauty is sculpted by rock formations covered by volcanic soil containing slate, ash, and mica, better known as llicorella. Winemaker Pep Aguilar harnesses the natural elements, using pure and innovative techniques to bring out the best of the indigenous grapes Garnacha and Cariñena, and international varieties of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Recognizable for the famous Priorat richness of flavor and depth, the wines of Bravo Escós have a modern sensibility with refinement, freshness, and intensity. The wines balance power and elegance, resulting in the interesting and surprising tension that rewards with an easy and subtle taste. Bodega Bravo Escós has applied for Organic certification.

Terroir & Vineyard Practices:

Bravo! is a Rose wine sourced from two selected plots located in Torroja del Priorat, one planted to Grenache and one to Syrah. The terrain is composed of brown and black slate combined with calcareous clay and alluvial sediments. The young vines are cultivated using sustainable agriculture and in the process of receiving organic certification.

Tasting Notes

The Bravo Escós Rose has a delicate fruit profile with good acidity. The pale pink color is accented by rose gold highlights. Flavors of strawberries and sweet cherries are accented by citrus and floral notes of rose petals and violets. A bouquet of Mediterranean herbs on the finish binds the wine to its unique terroir. The immediate impression is one of freshness and a silky sophistication that fills the palate. Lively acidity carries the wine through to the finish to create a marvelous taste sensation. Very limited production.

Vinification

Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts of the must occurs after direct pressing. Aging takes place in large modern eggs.
