Tasting Notes

Fine aromas of vanilla, topped with fresh fruit notes. Round on the palatte, but powerful and rich with a fresh finish. A wine of greatness.

Vinification

Manual harvesting. Sorted and 100% de-stemmed. Fermentation and maceration for about 20 days. No chaptalization. Wines rests in 2nd year wood so it does not dominate. Malolactic fermentation in casks. Wine moved using compressed air. Bottling by gravity after 15 months.

  • 88-91 points - Burghound: "(from a 1.06 ha parcel planted in 1950). This is a bit more aromatically complex if otherwise similar with more volume to the very rich and voluminous flavors that possess a seductive mouth feel that is enhanced by the slightly finer-grained tannins. There is lovely balance and length and overall, this is a more complete effort than the Clos des Hâtes. Drink 2021+" - Allen Meadows, Burghound
