About The Producer

Domaine La Font de Notre Dame, situated in the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail, is a family Estate managed and run by the Roux family. In 2016 Jean-Pierre Roux handed the reins over to his sons, Frédéric and Boris, who continue to impress us with their commitment to bringing us the beauty of their terroirs in a bottle. While the Domaine is based in Gigondas, they also have holdings in Lirac and Rasteau.

Terroir & Vineyard Practices:

The Domaine has 13ha of 80-year-old vines in Rasteau. The sun-soaked plots are planted in clay soils with an abundance of heat-retaining pebbles.

Tasting Notes

The wine has a deep purple color. With concentration coming from 80-year-old vines it’s studded with flavor - ripe cherry, blackberry, licorice, spices, and a hint of chocolate. An explosive palate offers ripe fruit and spicy, enduring tannins.

Vinification

The wine is aged predominantly in Cuvee, with approximately 25% aged in French oak barrels of 3-5 years old.
