About The Producer

Terroir & Vineyard Practices:

This cuvée is a blend of grape varieties from different plots of land in the commune of Cairanne, predominantly clay-limestone. Grenache and Syrah come from Beauregard area, and Carignan from Les Travers area. The Mourvèdre comes from Bois de la Garrigue, more in the plain, with pebbles on the surface. As for the Counoise, it comes from the Font Crose valley, a little higher up in altitude.

Tasting Notes

The nose is very fruity, with notes of redcurrant and blackberry jam, mixed with pretty woody notes. An aromatic intensity (wild strawberry, spices) is found in a full, silky and fresh mouth, supported by velvety tannins. To enjoy with a lamb stir-fry with rosemary.

Vinification

Grapes, harvested by hand, are gravity fed into concrete vats after a total destemming. The vinification is then traditionally done during 20 days (few pumping overs, no unballasting). No added yeast and the wines are not fined. Aging of 3 months in vats and 12 months in Burgundy oak barrels of 3 or 4 years. Bottling without filtration
