About The Producer

Cyril Testut is one of the top winemakers in Chablis. The Testuts have 13 hectares of vineyards (previously owned by Cistercian agronomist monks) located in the historic heart of Chablis. The vineyard sites are located atop of the famous Kimmeridgian soil that yields precise Chardonnays loaded with legendary minerality and acidity

Terroir & Vineyard Practices:

The soils are composed of marls and calcareous clayey from the Kimmeridgian period. The fruit for this 1er Cru comes from a 1 ha plot that faces southwest. The vines are 60 years old.

Tasting Notes

Powerful and complex. The Montee de Tonnerre is often quoted as the best 1er Crus in Chablis. Situated next to the Grand Crus its superior exposition gives the wine consistency each and every year.

Vinification

Manual Harvesting. Tank, static setting for 24 to 48 hours. Aged minimum of 16 months prior to bottling.
