About The Producer

Cyril Testut is one of the top winemakers in Chablis. The Testuts have 13 hectares of vineyards (previously owned by Cistercian agronomist monks) located in the historic heart of Chablis. The vineyard sites are located atop of the famous Kimmeridgian soil that yields precise Chardonnays loaded with legendary minerality and acidity.

Terroir & Vineyard Practices:

The fruit for this Village level wine comes from a 9 ha plot located in front of the Grand Cru Blanchots and on the side of 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre. The vines are 45-year-old. Testut's village-level Chablis is better than many of the (much more expensive) Premier Cru Chablis.

Tasting Notes

A complex wine with excellent mineral structure permits it to maintain its typical dry mineral and white fruit aromas for a number of years.

Vinification

Vinification in tank with static settling for 24 to 48 hours. Aged a minimum of 9 months.

Press

  • "There is a whiff of exotic fruit character to the apple, pear, melon and quinine-inflected nose. The well-detailed and solidly voluminous flavors possess good verve before concluding in a nicely dry, focused and sneaky long finish. This will drink well early as well as reward 3 to 6 years of keeping. Drink 2022+."- Allen Meadows, Burghound
