About The Producer

The Collovray et Terrier families created their Domaine in 1986 in the Maconnais and are considered one of the region’s best winemakers. Out of this marriage comes some of the most compelling White Burgundies in the region. They have a state of the art facility where they even bottle in their modern, pristine cellar, and they believe in using light toasted barrels.

Terroir & Vineyard Practices:

This cuvée is gathered from 26 plots in the communes of Davayé and Prissé, and the calcareous clay and clay-silty soils of Charnay, davayé and Pierreclos. These plots of Chardonnay are cultivated in the Mâconnais, near the rocks of Solutré and Vergisson, classified as large natural Sites of France. This terroir is the earliest of the Burgundian terroirs.

Tasting Notes

Unoaked Chardonnay from some of the finest vineyards in the Macon region (and one Burgundy's greatest white wine values). Vibrant, elegant, and well-made, this Chardonnay shows pure, precise white fruit flavors with refreshing acidity that lingers gently on the palate.

Vinification

The grapes are pressed using a pneumatic press and the clarified must at low temperature. Winemaking is carried out in a temperature controlled stainless steel tank. The malolactic fermentation with the rearing carried out in vats on fine lees until the month of February/March.
