Chateau D’Aydie - Region: Madiran

About the Producer:

In the heart of Madiran, where the Pyrenees meet the Gascon hills, the Laplace family has been the beating heart of the appellation for 3 generations. Today, a new generation proudly carries the torch, cultivating 90 hectares of vines around the village of Aydie, including château d’Aydie. Firmly rooted in tradition yet driven by innovation, they continue the family story with fresh energy and a clear vision: to craft wines that capture the soul of their land while speaking to modern palates around the world.

At the heart of their vision lies their unique terroir. Nestled in the rolling foothills of the Pyrenees, the Laplace vineyards enjoy the perfect balance between sun exposure and cool mountain breezes. The combination of clay, limestone, and gravel soils gives their
wines both structure and finesse, the clay bringing power and depth, while the lighter, stony slopes add vibrancy and lift. This natural diversity allows the family to craft wines that are deeply rooted yet remarkably balanced, showcasing the true essence of
Madiran.

By embracing sustainable viticulture, gentle extraction, and precise oak aging, the family brings out the vivid fruit, silky textures, and refined tannins that make their wines both distinctive and accessible.
