This appellation is bordered on the west by a small stream, Le Fil, which forms the boundary with St Veran and on the east by Gros Mont. There are 2 vineyards with distinct characteristics; one is old vines planted on limestone, the other is young vines planted on soils with a higher clay component. The wine undergoes a slow cool pressing to retain the fruit character and fresh fruit aromas. Fermentation is conducted in stainless steel and 30% in second year barrels. The occurrence of malolactic fermentation depends on the vintage. The wine is aged sur lie for 6 months.
